I walked down the coastline and spotted a shade behind some rocks – There was no sign of other people here. 

All you could hear was the relaxed sound of the waves rolling in.

I choose this place, for it was somewhere I wouldn’t be spotted by any of the other students.

As I entered the seawater I could still feel the cold coming over me. The current season has left the water still rather cold. 

To be so astonished by the water’s temperature must have something to do with being young… That being said, I am the youngest one around here.

“Iris, over here”

“C-coming”

Though she was quite confused about what to do, she obeyed my instruction to go into the sea.

She might not be able to swim, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like the sea. Though this is the case, this is still going to take a while.

“At first I’d like to see your swimming level, so could you please show me what you can already do?”

“Oh, well actually… This is kind of my limit in regards to swimming”

All that she was able to show me was some splashes in the water as if she was a dog standing in a puddle.

This will keep her afloat for now … But I will teach her how to swim properly.

I can understand why she’d not want to show herself like this to her classmates. As this thought went through my mind I looked over at the coastline and saw Alia keeping watch over Iris, who desperately tried to swim.

Her expression was as dry as always… But now that I look at it better it seems to be a bit shakey. — She’s trying not to laugh.

“L-like… this”

Iris said as she stood up. She seemed red. That might be because she feels ashamed that she can only move herself in the water like a dog.

“I think that goes pretty well already. Shall we try to see if you can use your legs more properly now?”

“Yes — But first ALIA! How long are you going to stand there?!”

I thought she wouldn’t notice, but it seems she did know that Alia was watching her from the coastline. 

As Alia pretended not to know what Iris had meant, she answered,

“Until you know how to swim”

“Not the whole time I hope!”

“Alia, can you swim?”

Though I asked her, she didn’t respond and moved on top of the rocks. It was pretty high up, yet she moved onto the highest of the rocks there. She then moved her arms straight above her head and jumped without hesitation.

With a flawless form, she dove into the sea.

… Though a bit baffled, I can only say that her form as perfect. She must’ve known how to swim since before she lived with Iris.

As she came back to the shore she didn’t look at either me or Iris.

“!?! W-wait Alia, your swimsuit!”

“Oh”

Alia had noticed what Iris had meant to say. 

The already not-much-covering swimsuit had flown away, uncovering her body – Her chest area was completely exposed.

I immediately averted my gaze, but Iris already blocked my vision with her hand.

“Quickly, get your swimsuit!”

“You don’t need to stress it so much, I’m already going”

“Why are you coming over here then?”

“I thought I’d take a rest”

“Your chest! Cover your chest!”

“Iris, you’re too flustered”

“You’re the one not flustered enough!”

She must know exactly what she’s doing; She’s teasing Iris.

— The fact that I had no sense of panic was something that Alia too must’ve known.

She knew that the flirting of the other students had also left me quite uninterested.

“If you’re that flustered, why don’t you go and get it, Iris?”

“Wha– Fine! I’ll go and get it. I trust you won’t look, Mr. Schweiss!”

Iris then lifted her hands away and immediately went over to Alia’s place.

She can’t even swim, so searching for the swimsuit will be quite a problem, but she’s also rather panicked.

Alia laughed as she watched Iris like this.

“Seems like you’re having fun, Iris”

“Well, this is what swimming lessons are right?”

“I know. I was just playing around. I won’t bother you anymore”

“I don’t mind that but… If you want to play, why don’t you go over to the rest of the class”

“Well, it’s more fun with you Iris”

This is exactly the type of person Alia is; She really wants to stay as close to Iris as possible. 

Just like the other students, these two are like a set as well.

This is her personality too, so there is really not much to say here – However, as their homeroom teacher, I should tell her that it’s best to get along with the rest as well.

“Well, we’re finally here, so wouldn’t you think it’s best if you can get along with the other students too?”

“Hm, I’ll think about it once Iris knows how to swim”

“Iris first, huh”

“You’re quite the same, aren’t you Mr. Schweiss?”

“I think you and I are not in the same boat here”

As I said so, Alia cast her sight away. Though her swimsuit had slipped away from her, she stood there with no shame, what so ever.

To not be flustered even now is quite like Alia. As I thought this,

“… Don’t look”

As her face had gotten redder, she started covering her chest. … She too knows shame it seems.

“If you’re going to say that, you might as well have covered them from the beginning”

“…I know”

I covered Alia with the coat that I left on the shore, and went over to Iris who was still desperately searching for Alia’s swimsuit.

“Iris! I will search for her swimsuit. Since you can’t swim, you can leave it to me alright?”

“T-That’s alright! I won’t drown or anything!”

For some reason she acted strong – I am quick at swimming, so finding Alia’s swimsuit should be no problem. Alia remained on the shore, looking silently over Iris and me as we practiced swimming.

I was finally able to teach Iris how to swim it seems.
