Eina took Mersche with her in the carriage as they headed for the Empire.
It had been a few days since the fight with the Shadow Apostles. As Eina was looking out the window at the scenery before them, she asked Mersche, “Is this alright with you? Not staying in the Kingdom that is. After all this time, you were finally able to meet your little sister again.”
“I don’t mind. We can always meet again – That’s what I promised her. And you, Lady Eina? Wouldn’t you have liked to talk a little more with Lord Alta?”
After the fight, Eina went to the Black Wolves Knight Order and met with the respective captain, Remyl, to talk about the captured assassin. There was no real time left to talk with Alta before she went back to the Empire.
Eina left out a laugh.
“We will always have another chance to meet. After all, the tour was canceled halfway through. I think we could make another arrangement soon.”
“If that’s what you like, Lady Eina, I wouldn’t mind, but… Lord Alta is constantly accompanied by two other women.”
“Two others, you say. That includes your sister?”
“She has put her trust into him, so obviously, yes.”
“Fwa, quite the love rival then.”
“…fufuu.”
“Are you making fun of me right now?”
“No, that’s not what I meant… But right. Next time, I would like to come here again without a doubt.”
Mersche said so as she was looking at the Kingdom that they had left.
The Empire and the Kingdom — They were not on the best of terms yet, but as of next time, they were bound to create a friendship.
This time, Eina made use of the Kingdom. This was something she had to apologize for.
She understood so as well — For one day she was going to have to be responsible for the entire Empire.
(With that in mind… We aren’t so different, are we Iris?)
The number one candidate to become the next King, and the Kingdom’s strongest, Iris Reinfell – I didn’t get the chance to see her real strength with my own eyes. But including Alta, the Kingdom sure did have strong people.
Though the tour had finished halfway through, I couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that the bond between the Empire and the Kingdom had taken a turn for the better.
“Hm, it was fun huh… We’re already turning back home. Next time we meet, I would like to have a date with Alta. Mersche, make sure it happens.”
“If you’re asking him on a date, isn’t it better if you do it yourself?”
“…I don’t know how.”
“Well then, shall we make it the first thing on our list of practice for the platoon once we get back?”
“Hm… Perhaps, but the soldiers of the platoon might be married already. Have you thought about that?!”
“…It was only a joke.”
Mersche sighed in response to Eina’s reaction.
Their carriage was headed straight for the Empire.
***
A few days had passed since Iris was released from the hospital.
I finally got to work again as a teacher, and I was in charge of teaching Alia and Iris who were always late for this class and even more after.
After a few days, we had a holiday of about 10 days. I myself thought it would be best for them to study as much as possible in order to catch up, but rules were rules.
On the training grounds, I conjured up training swords and went over to the girls.
“Though it’s just a normal class… It feels like the real thing.”
“It’s been a while since I’ve used my body like this. So, for a little while.. can we go all out?”
“Yea, I too would like to go all out on you, Mr. Schweiss.”
A straight sword and a short blade – They both held their respective blades they were good at. They both sounded very happy.
It seems that these two students and disciples of mine are very hotblooded.
As I thought about this I told them, “Understood. Let’s implement a special rule. If you can hit me just once, then I will devote all my time to teaching you the blade. If not, you have to properly take my classes.”
“Yes, Mr. Schweiss!”
“We’ll definitely win. We are allowed to use magic, right?”
“Alia, this is a swordsmanship class, remember?”
“Right — Well, then it’s about time for us to win.”
“Oh, wait!”
As Alia moved out first, Iris followed up quickly after.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen them move like this – I moved just as they did too. Alia’s short blade clashed with my sword.
“As expected from a Swordmaster!”
“Alia, you can’t attack someone mentally during class like that!”
As she left out a smile while I said that, she looked behind me. Iris had snuck behind me, and she came at me with her sword aimed for me.
After I deflected Alia’s short blade, I quickly dodged to the right. I took some distance but then went out to face those two again.
“That was a close one. Good warm-up. Alia, we’ll end it with the next one.”
“Yes, got it.”
With smiles on their faces, they clashed their blades against mine.
The Assassin and the Swordmaster Princess – They are best friends and even family.
And finally, they can stand shoulder to shoulder again.
This was volume 2.
Thank you so much for reading!
The story was mainly about Alia, but because Eina also got mixed up in it, it took a bit longer than expected.
In the end, it became a story about family.
I’ve been thinking about how to go about volume three, and plan to let my personal favorite, the Swordsman Gang, come back.
The 3rd volume will be about the Swordsman Girl, I think!
This story will also include our hero Alta, so it will be a lot of fun to write.
Either way, I will do my best, so please bookmark it and I would love to hear your comments!
