As the celebrations started ramping up, I returned to my seat and discovered that Lu had been eating snacks and making a mess at the table.

“Sera! The snacks over here in Galle have some pretty strong spiciness and it’s pretty interesting!” said Lu. 

Asu interjected hurriedly, saying, “Lu, have you been testing the food for poison or gorging yourself? Mere snacks aren’t spicy here, you know?”

“…What?? Well, yesterday, I said I liked spicy food…” said Lu. 

In the end, none of the food was poisoned.

Galle had indeed… calmed down. 

I managed to get through the entire party on an empty stomach, and since I wasn’t used to this, I got tired, eventually. Though it was something that didn’t happen often, I ended up staying over at a guest house at the royal palace, and I went to sleep with a congested looking Lu.

Gilan was waiting for me, along with Asu, Liguido, and Sakaki. He had a grim look on his face. I realized that he had recently heard about what had happened the previous day. 

“Good morning, everyone,” I said. 

“Princess. Lu-sama. Good morning,” said Liguido and Sakaki at once, with bowed heads. I bowed, in turn, and sat down in a chair. 

They raised their heads, and… Sakaki looked completely emaciated… It was as if he had exhausted all of his magical and physical strength…

As I gazed upon Sakaki with a suspicious eye, he waved my look away with one hand. Apparently, he didn’t want to make it a point of conversation. 

“Princess – please pay no mind towards Sakaki. He simply went under some educational exercises, recently,” said Liguido. 

“Huh?… Is that right…” Lu and I said, together. Neither of us asked any further, though. For now, (pain and fatigue, fly off, and don’t come back!) I just wished for his recovery by casting a small charm on him. 

“Sera – Darrel caused you trouble, it seems. I apologize on his behalf,” said Gilan, bowing his head. It was just as I had imagined. 

“Oh, well, Lu was with me. It wasn’t a big deal. I’m glad the problem’s come to surface, at last, though,” I said, shrugging. Gilan smiled, sadly. 

Liguido coughed and gathered his thoughts. 

“I must say, I bear some responsibility for this ordeal, and so I will be paying three months’ worth of my income toward the country’s treasury to atone,” said Liguido. 

“Isn’t that a bit much?” I asked. I didn’t know how much he was earning, though. 

“I allowed the future empress to fall into a dangerous situation. I let my guard down, since the princess is, thank god, not just an everyday person,” said Liguido.

Gilan seemed to think hard about the issue for a moment, and then nodded. 

“All right,” he said. 

“Well then, it’s decided. I’ll send the head of the Trundle Guild a letter of greeting and a payment. We’ll send Lord Darrel off to them, and ask them to deal with him for us,” said Liguido, wrapping up the conversation. 

“I’ll send my letter of support, as well,” I said.

“Princess, where will you be going?” asked Sakaki.

“Apparently, we’ll be going to the Holy Mountain Beluga,” I said. 

“To the Holy Mountain… Only someone like you would be invited to such a place, Princess. Lord Gilan, please go along with her. Now that we’ve settled the issue with Lord Darrel, you are free for the rest of the day,” said Liguido, returning to his usual self. 

“Hm, yes. Gilan should come, too,” said Asu.
