- Chapter 94 - Flower Festival 4

The flower festival had reached the third day, and the neighbors who at first were hesitant to visit the gardens were becoming less hesitant. In addition, people from villages and towns outside the royal capital began to arrive little by little, and the number of visitors was increasing day by day.
In particular, for some reason, children were gathering in the garden of the Mitycurian family, so they hurriedly prepared low tables and laid a thin rug on the lawn like picnics and showed the children there.
Cain also made friends with the fellow servers and enjoyed working the part-time job. In exchange for preparing the venue early in the morning and cleaning up after dark, the staff meals were a feast so, among the fellow servers, they talked about how the part-time job was a lucky one and other things.
That day was the third day which was also the middle day. Julian came in the name of greeting from the royal family and inspection. He brought along with him a boy about the same age as Diana.
“Welcome to our place, Julian-sama. Gianluca-sama.”
“Yes. Duke of Mitycurian, Duchess of Mitycurian. I’m glad to see that you seem to be in good health. Seems that a lot of people are coming to the garden too.”
“Thankfully, many people are coming around to our garden. Please have a look around, Your Royal Highnesses. Shirley Leah is in the back of the lawn square.”
“Hmm.”
Julian nodded while holding himself high and after lightly raising his hand to Shirley Leah’s parents, he turned his back to them. The boy called Gianluca also obediently followed behind him. They walked smoothly in between the round tables, gracefully slipped through the crowds of commoners.
He was wearing clothing that can be perceived as an aristocrat at a glance, but it wasn’t particularly flashy clothing, so it seemed like no one noticed that Julian was the prince of the country.
Since it was the kind of festival where the aristocrats opened their garden to the public and entertained the commoner living in the same city with snacks, it was said that it was not necessary for all the formalities like bowing and the likes of it.
Everyone at least gave a light bow to Julian and Gianluca, but they didn’t give them any more attention than that – they had their attention on the delicious and high-class looking sweets and snacks that were placed on the table, one after another.
“Oh, Julian-sama.”
The first one who noticed was Cain. In front of Cain was a large rug laid on the lawn, on which there were children who took off their shoes and they sat around, or eating snacks, or lying down.
Next to Cain was Shirley Leah who was also about to pass a new plate with snacks to the children.
Hearing Cain’s voice, Shirley Leah sat up straight and turned around gracefully while still holding the snack plate.
“Julian-sama, hello.”
“Yes, Shirley Leah. Glad to see you’re doing well.”
Shirley Leah was about to give out the back of her hand to Julian but when she realized that she was holding a big plate with snacks on that hand, she was shaken up. Cain gently picked up the snack plate from her hand, took a step back, and placed the plate down in the middle of the children.
He gathered the snacks in the plate filled halfway into one plate, brought the empty plate to the edge, and placed down the new plate on the rug in the middle of the children. While calming down the little ones trying to pick up the sweets, he took the plate from the older one who handed him the empty plates. While Cain was doing all this, he only used his feeling to know that behind him, Julian and Shirley Leah were doing the greeting where they placed the back of their hand on the forehead.
When he stood up with the empty plates on his hand, Julian had just let go of Shirley Leah’s hand and was recovering his composure.
“Cain, are you doing well?”
“It’s only been three days since we parted at the dormitory.”
“I brought along someone I wanted to introduce to Cain. For now, go and clean up the plates.”
Seeing Cain was holding empty plates on top of each other, Julian said this so Maddy who was nearby picked up the plates and left. It seemed that if you continue to serve people for three days, you would become more attentive to each other.
Seeing that Cain’s hands were free, Julian gave a big nod and pushed the boy who was waiting behind him on the shoulder and made him stand next to him. Read this novel and other amazing translated novels from the original source at the “Novel Multiverse dot com” website @ novelmultiverse.com
“This is Gianluca. My younger brother.”
“Hello. My name is Gianluca. I’ve heard a lot of stories from my brother and wanted to talk with you.”
“Nice to meet you. My name is Cain Elgrandark. I am honored to meet you. Your Highness Gianluca.”
“..Umm, Mr. Cain is an international student from the Kingdom of Limuto Break, and you can use magic, right?”
(He forgot the name, but with that he remembered it. Gianluca was the second prince of this country. He was the one who studied abroad in De Magic Academy and became a potential suitor.)
Gianluca was a prince born with magical power in Siriyum, where generally they were not able to use magic. The background story was supposed to be that he went to study abroad to Limuto Break to learn magic control.
“You can call me Cain, Your Highness Gianluca. As you said, I’m from Limuto Break, so I can use magic. Is Your Highness Gianluca interested in magic?”
“…Yes, well.”
He dropped his eyes slightly.
Mages may not be very welcomed at Siriyum. Cain, who has only been in this country for two months, didn’t really have an understanding about that part.
“Later, please make some time and have a talk with Gianluca. Because I also have something to talk about with Cain.”
“I understand.”
After giving them a light bow, Cain faced back the children because he was still at work. Behind Cain, Shirley Leah called out to Julian saying that the flowers in the greenhouse were blooming beautifully but he heard Julian replying to her without much interest.
When Cain crouched down, he removed a napkin from his pocket and wiped the children’s hands. The children were eating sweets by hand without using cutlery, so their hands were sticky from their drool.
He wiped their hand, took out another napkin and wiped around the little child’s mouth, pulled his hand, and took him to Julian’s side.
“Look, it’s Julian-sama. Why don’t you shake hands? Maybe touching him will improve your luck.”
“Cain, don’t talk as if people are lucky charms.”
“Hello Julian-sama!”
“Ye.., yes…”
Children other than the one that Cain pulled his hand also came down from the rug and gathered. Cain gently whispered to Julian, who was surrounded by small children and looked like he didn’t know what to do.
“Julian-sama. If you’re kind to small children and small animals… You will be popular.”
“Uh … is that so?”
When told about being popular by Cain, Julian nervously stroked the head on the nearest child gently. Julian hurriedly withdrew his hand with a pale face while saying “Wah. It’s coming off!” when the force from his hand that he was stroking the head made the child’s neck easily tilt and rolled from one side to the other.
“Shi… Shirley Leah. Why don’t you show me the flowers in the greenhouse? It’s in full bloom isn’t it?”
“Yes! Let me show you the way. Cain-sama, can I leave this to you?”
“Yes, I’ll take care of the children properly. Your Highness Gianluca, why don’t you join us for snacks while waiting for Julian-sama to return? I will taste it for poison.”
“…I see. I will have it then.”
Shirley Leah gently placed her hand on the elbow that Julian had held out, and Cain and the children watched as the two of them walked away.
“I wonder if my brother didn’t know that Sister Shirley Leah was inviting him – ‘Let’s go to the greenhouse together’?”
“Normally, because he’s always invited with invitations that are easy to understand, so he may not be able to understand an indirect way of invitation.”
By accompanying Gianluca, no one said anything to Cain even if he skipped the server’s job. On the contrary, he received a message via Maddy that he should accompany him properly.
Taking up on the offer, Cain leisurely ate sweets with the children and Prince Gianluca on the rug on the lawn and waited for the engaged couple to return.
The children who saw Cain was giving sweets to Gianluca after eating a bite, also wanted to do this, so they rushed and pushed the sweets that they had taken a bite to Gianluca, and for a period of time, Gianluca’s cheeks became puffed up like a hamster. i know i shouldn’t but i want Shirley Leah to stay with cain
I…I really like Shirley Leah. Um…just like what the other commenter said (Nosetampaco), although I know I shouldn’t and that it is probably never going to happen, I kind of think her dynamic with Cain is stronger than with Julian.
Nevertheless, I don’t know much about Shirley Leah, and Julian does seem to love her, so, uh…I mean…no, no. That’s just me trying to remain rational. I still think Cain is a better match for her. I’m probably just following a “protagonist-centered mindset” though, and I really hate that… But, still, I ship it!
I don’t think this novel has an NTR tag so I think it’s safe to think that it’s not gonna happen..
