The Sender of the Letter

At the Caparoni residence, Alessia and Robin were meeting for the first time.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Robin… umm…”

Robin glanced at Ferdinand in confusion. The older man smiled and leaned down to whisper something in his ear.

“It’s Robin Farina Jacob Caparoni.”

“Oh yeah!” Robin said after Ferdinand reminded him of his new name. Then he turned back to Alessia with a straight spine.

“I am Robin Farina Jacob Caparoni. It is a pleasure to meet you, sister Alessia.”

He bowed slightly to her. Alessia’s eyes widened at that. She called over a maid and gave her some instructions before crouching down to Robin’s eye level.

“Nice to meet you, Robin. My name is Alessia Farina Caparoni. I’m younger than Leonardo, and older than Miriam. Pleased to meet you.”

She smiled and grabbed Robin’s small hand.

“Do you like sweets and juice? I’m having it prepared in the parlour right now, do you want to have some? I want to know everything about you, Robin.”

Robin’s face reddened as the fairy like beauty smiled at him, and he nodded his head vigorously.

Alessia pulled on his hand and led him to the parlour.

“That was…”

“She seems to like him…”

Ferdinand and Leonardo smiled at each other as they watched them leave. Then they followed the two into the other room.

After that, they all sat down and enjoyed tea for a while. A footman came and informed Ferdinand that the wooden sword he had ordered for Robin had arrived. Eyes shining with excitement, Ferdinand grabbed the boy and cheerfully led him away to look at it.

Leonardo and Alessia were left behind on the sofas when Leonardo suddenly remembered the letter he had received from Valeria. He pulled it out of his pocket and handed it to her.

“What’s this?”

“It’s a letter for you. I got it from Lady Valeria earlier. She said it’s from a new initiate so I don’t know who the sender is. Do you know who it’s from?”

Alessia looked at the address on the envelope. She tried to see if the sender’s name was written but couldn’t find anything.

However, she recognised the handwriting.

“I probably do…” She said before getting up . She excused herself and left the room. If this letter was from the person she was thinking of… her heart swelled at the thought.

She closed the door to her room. With quivering hands, she grabbed a letter opener and opened up the seal of the letter.

How are you?

You were crying when I last saw you. I want to see your smiling face this time.

Tears ran down Alessia’s cheeks as she read the letter.

“You’re alive… thank god…”

She had heard about what happened to all the people related to the True Salvation Religion. She’d thought he would be dead considering he was the false god of the religion.

She didn’t mind even if he never came to pick her up, even if she never saw him again. It was enough for her to know that he was alright. He was the only man she had loved in her whole life.

As evening approached, Alessia sat down near the window and read the letter again and again.

She clutched the letter to her chest and closed her eyes when suddenly someone hugged her from behind.

“I’m here…”

Alessia opened her eyes as someone whispered by her ear. She turned around to meet warm golden eyes.

“Gil…?”

“Yeah.”

“Is it you?”

“It’s me.”

“But…”

Alessia extended her hand and touched his hair.

“Your hair is different…”

“Haha, I know.”

His silver hair was now a deep chocolate colour.

“The colour before stood out too much. How is it? Does it suit me?”

“I like both.”

“Thanks.”

Alessia turned around to face him and they both hugged each other strongly.
