- Chapter 71 - The Prince's Arrival
The Prince’s Arrival
“I apologize for interrupting you, Lady Caproni…”
The manager of the cafe had come in and was currently talking to Tatiana. Tatiana listened to him as he whispered something to her before mumbling a ‘Oh, well’ and giving out some orders. Then she smiled broadly and turned to Miriam.
“Speak of the devil. Millie, come, greet the prince.”
“Eh?”
The footman opened the door then, and a man with black hair and blue eyes was led in by the manager. He was probably travelling incognito as he was dressed in commoner’s attire. However, despite the clothes, you could easily tell he was a person of high standing from his manners.
“Thank you for agreeing to see me, Lady Caparoni.”
“It’s nothing, I had no reason to decline.”
After greeting Tatiana, he turned to the surprised Miriam and clutched her hands.
“I wanted to see you, Miriam.”
“Prince Emilio?”
“Haha, why do you look so shocked?”
Emilio pulled on Miriam’s hands, bringing her to her feet, and then pulled her into a hug.
Miriam, remembering they were surrounded by people, which included Tatiana, turned bright red. She quickly pulled out of the embrace in a fluster.
“Th-there are people here… Prince Emilio!”
Emilio felt like he would collapse from overheating as Miriam looked up at him with her upturned eyes, and puffed cheeks.
‘Ah! She’s tooooo cute! Such destructive power! Ah, I want to hug her again! I want to pull her on my lap and kiss every corner of that cute face!’
He suddenly realised his thoughts were going in a dangerous direction. With great determination, he somehow managed to suppress his desire to hug her closer, and instead kept a hold of that small, soft hand.
“Lady Caparoni, may I borrow Miss Miriam for a while?”
He desperately clung to reason, and asked Tatiana for permission to go out. Tatiana laughed as she watched him.
“Go ahead. Please return her by dinner.”
“Thank you. Come, let’s go, Miriam!”
Emilio pulled on Miriam’s hand as he made to rush out.
“Just one thing. Make sure to restrain yourself before marriage. I’m placing my trust on you, Your Highness.” Tatiana warned him with a smile.
At that, Emilio straightened his back and replied “Of course!”
