- Chapter 61 - An Unexpected Saviour
An unexpected Saviour!?
“Ha I’ve always wanted to try fighting you! I’m definitely the stronger one! Right, Lord Gilbert!”
The boy sent his electricity whip towards Gil.
Gil leaped away and escaped the attack. The floor where he had been standing just moments ago shattered, with scorching burn marks around it.
“Ooh that was close. Hey, I really like these clothes so be a bit more careful.”
“Tch! Don’t gloat; you barely managed to escape!”
The boy’s smile vanished as Gil calmly evaded all of his attacks.
“Damn it! Why won’t it hit you!?”
He sent his whip flying at Gil continuously, but Gil evaded all of them easily with a nonchalant expression on his face.
The floor around him was completely destroyed, shattering wherever the whip hit it.
“Your whip is too long. I’ve thought this before as well but you should have more of an element of surprise. It’s too easy to see the trajectory of the whip; even children can avoid it.”
Gil gave out pointers to the boy with an easy going attitude. The boy’s face turned red and his body started shivering in anger.
“Sh-shut up! Shut your trap! I won’t lose to you just because you were born with silver hair and golden eyes!”
The boy conjured a ball of lightning on top of his head. The electricity inside it crackled as it grew bigger and bigger. If he released it it would definitely cause a huge explosion, engulfing everyone around it, including himself. It wasn’t something you should use indoors.
“I’m going to kill you, and then I will be the God of Salvation! HAHa-aaaaaa!”
As soon as he released the ball of lightning, a flash of light swept down from a golden magic circle that had appeared on the ceiling, and engulfed it.
It completely enveloped the lightning inside it. Then, Gil snapped his fingers and the light disappeared along with the ball of lightning inside it.
“Wha…. what…. You don’t even have a scratch…”
The boy slumped down on his knees in shock. Gil held out his hand in front of him and the usual golden light enveloped him.
The boy fell down, his eyes gazing blankly in the distance.
“Ahaha. It really is the best to use illusion magic to put people to sleep!”
Gil laughed as he gazed down at the collapsed child.
During this time, the reinforcements had arrived and they were surrounded by the DUke’s guards, as well as people in red robes. It was the people whose footsteps they had heard earlier. Gil looked at the people around him and then shrugged.
“Ah, it’s a bit troublesome when there are a lot of people.”
Beside him, Ivan finished the fight with the taller man as he landed the last blow on his opponent. He was quite good at sword fighting, but he didn’t have much practical experience. As he started fighting with those around them, he couldn’t block some of the attacks and already had small scratches on his body.
“Shit! This is too much! All our efforts so far might go to waste!”
His forehead was dripping in sweat while his arm and leg were bleeding from where he’d been slashed by his opponent. He had taken the tall man’s longsword, but each blow required immense strength; his body was already getting tired.
Finally, his legs gave out and he fell to the floor, his sword clattering to the floor.
‘…. AH! I guess this is how it ends!’
Ivan closed his eyes in preparation for his last breath.
Shing!
There was a sound of sword clashing against sword. When he opened his eyes, he saw someone had come to stand between him and his opponent.
The man in front of him had dark brown hair the same shade as his brother’s fiance, but a bit darker. His black cloak fluttered behind him as he gallantly jumped in. It was the handsome man also known as the masterpiece of Gods.
“Y-you!”
The man looked over his shoulder and sent a dashing smile to Ivan. Even though they were both men, Ivan felt a surge of admiration for him.
“Prince Ivan, are you alright?”
“Y-yeah, Lord Caparoni.”
Yeah, the man in front of him was Ferdinand Rossi Luigi Caparoni. The current head of the Caparoni family, and a former Knight Commander. Miriam’s father.
