- Chapter 31 - Gil's Purpose
Gil’s Purpose
The furniture was made of plain wood. Although it looked to be really old, you could tell it was carefully maintained and looked after.
The curtains and linens which looked to be something a young woman may like were not ostentatious either, but were of a good quality.
Alessia observed her room once again. This was the second morning since she had been
brought to this place.
‘This room must have belonged to someone before? Someone a bit younger than me…’
The design of the fixtures and the delicate lattice on the window used to be in fashion about a 100 years ago.
The lattice on the window was decorated by climbing roses. Looking out of that window, she saw a myriad of colourful flowers gently swaying with the wind.
“Hello, how are you feeling? Fairy princess.”
Gil’s voice came from behind her. He came to check up on her many times in a day; she was no longer surprised or scared when she heard his voice.
“Is there something you need? You seem to have a lot of free time.”
“Hahaha. I don’t have free time, but I can’t help myself when I think someone as beautiful as you is under the same roof as me! My legs automatically start heading towards your room!”
Gil tried to hug Alessia from behind but she quickly withdrew.
Her hands swept over the shoulder Gil had touched as if she was wiping off some dust.
“Please don’t touch me so freely.”
Alessia glared at him with her cold amethyst eyes. Gil flushed at her gaze and gave a broad smile.
“How nice! I feel excited every time you look at me with that cold gaze!”!
“……..”
Alessia knitted her brows and looked at him like he was garbage.
“Haha. You look so pretty when you show your real feelings. I’m the only one who’s seen this face of yours!”
“… you do not come any closer.”
Alessia felt frustrated by Gil who always had an ecstatic look on his face no matter how coldly she treated him.
‘Exactly what does this guy want… I can’t tell his intentions.’
Gil went down on one knee, grabbed Alessia’s hand and then kissed it as he gazed up at her.
“It must be so hard for you to live in the Marquess’ house. As the daughter of a Marquess you have to be strict on yourself, strict on others. Always holding yourself back, and, for that reason, your own precious sister hates you…”
Alessia quickly opened her eyes and snatched her hand away from Gil.
“… looks like you really understand the situation.”
“Was I right?”
“There are some things that are a bit off the mark.”
“Oh, is that so?”
Gil got up on his feet. He grabbed Alessia’s face in his hands and turned her to face him. He brought his face closer to hers until their noses were touching. Alessia frowned and narrowed her eyes at him.
“… let me go.”
“I won’t let go. I want to set you free. Your strong gaze that doesn’t flinch from anyone. Like a dragon… closing your eyes at this time, you really are a careless young lady.”
Saying so, Gil lowered his face and covered her lips with his own.
“Nnn! Ha…”
He gradually angled his face to the side as he greedily devoured her lips. Alessia used all of her might to push him away, and then landed a strong slap on his face.
“W-what are you doing! You’re disgusting!”
Gil looked down at Alessia who was shivering with tears in her eyes. He smiled broadly as he caressed the cheek she had slapped.
“Ah! What a wonderful expression! I wanted to see some emotion on your face! Your cold face is also pretty, but you’re much more charming when you’re showing some emotion! It would be nice if you could stay like this forever!”
Alessia was left speechless at his bold words when suddenly there was a loud knock on the door.
“We had such a nice mood here. Looks like a hindrance had shown up.”
‘There was no such ‘nice mood’! Seriously, what is he saying!?’
Gil opened the door; a man dressed in a red robe whispered something in his ear.
“Hmmm. Is that so? Well, I guess it can’t be helped.”
It looked like he had received some kind of report. He turned on his heels and came back to Alessia.
“Unfortunately, we’ll have to part for a while. It looks like the first prince and your brother have found out about my lineage. It’s only a matter of time before they also find this place. And your father will be back by tonight as well. Looks like now is a good opportunity.”
“W-what exactly is your objective!?”
Gil inclined his head at Alessia’s question. He seemed to be thinking for a while before he smiled. He picked up a lock of her hair and brought it to his mouth.
“To put it bluntly, my objective was to meet you? I wanted to meet you and leave a lasting impression.”
“What do you mean?”
“Haha, For now, let’s leave it at that. I’ll come see you again.”
Gil closed her eyes with his right hand and placed a light kiss on her lips.
In the next moment, Alessia lost her consciousness and collapsed against his chest.
That evening, she woke up in the gazebo inside the Caparoni house’s garden. A huge pile of flowers surrounded her.
And so the case of the abduction of Miss Caparoni came to a close without even a single contact with the kidnappers.
