- Chapter 12 - Kindred Soul
Kindred Soul
“…Let go of that hand.”
When the two let go of their hands, Leonardo pulled Miriam away from Emilio with alarming speed. He took out his handkerchief from his breast pocket and vigorously wiped her hands.
“B-brother, it hurts! It’s not dirty so please stop.”
“No, it is dirty! I just took my eyes off you for a moment!”
“Hey! That’s a bit harsh! I’m a prince after all!”
“Be quiet! How dare you spoil my Millie!”
“Brother! You’re being too disrespectful!”
When Beatrice returned after making the medicine, she found the three arguing over something.
Finding it hilarious, she decided to use her crystal to show it to Valeria and Eleonora as well.
“Brother! The prince and I are like kindred souls! I was deeply moved by our conversation just now!”
“It’s rare to find someone like Miss Caparoni who can understand me! Ah, that’s right! Can I call you Miriam? You can also call me by my name!”
“Yes! With pleasure! Ah but, it would be rude to call you by your name.”
“Don’t fret! Aren’t we kindred spirits?”
“…Th-then, Emilio…”
“Thanks! Miriam!”
Leonardo felt his anger rise at the two who had started chatting once again while ignoring him. Finally, he pulled Miriam to his side.
“I’m going to take Millie back home! Emilio, you should drink your medicine then call a chamberlain to escort you back to the office!”
As soon as he said so, he rushed out of Beatrice’s mansion.
“Hey, did you seee that? The springtime of youth.”
{Ahahaha! It’s gotten interesting~}
{We should have stayed a bit longer.}
(TN: The dialogue in { } is said through the crystal Beatrice is using)
The witches started talking, not caring about Emilio who was left staring at the door in surprise.
{With a brother like that, it looks like Millie’s going to have a hard time in the future-}
{The prince also finally met someone who interests him, but he’ll have lots of obstacles in the future.}
“Nooo! Wouldn’t that flame their love even more?”
“No, I don’t particularly have feelings for Miriam other than being friends.” Emilio butted into the conversation of the excited witches and quickly denied their remarks.
{Whaaa, really? How disappointing!}
{Well, let me know more at the next tea party.}
“Alright. Let’s call Millie again as well. It was really fun with her.”
{Sure! I like her since she doesn’t bore me!}
“Hahaha. Me too. Then, I’ll talk to you guys later.”
Beatrice put the crystal back on it’s shelf. Then she placed the requested medicine and a pitcher of water on the table.
“Here’s the medicine.”
“Thank you. By the way…”
“Yeees?”
“Can you please let me know as well when you call her… Miriam to a tea party?”
Emilio fumbled for words at Beatrice’s look of amazement.
“No, that is… ah, yes! I thought I’d send her back in my carriage! Yeah, for my carriage. That’s why.”
Beatrice let out a giggle at Emilio’s defensive behaviour.
“I see, so you’re worried about her going back home. Understood.”
Beatrice nodded and smiled pleasantly at him. With a sigh of relief, Emilio left the room.
“If it’s about going back home, I can just send her back in an instant with my magic. Maybe he doesn’t know? Teehee.”
