Hammurabi Style - Chapter 34
****
“Yea. That’s what happens if you intertwine with Sangki Beak.”
Saehun Choi was outside of the Dark Auction to do something.
He was making a satisfied face while watching a video of the demonstration in front of Ohsung and then stiffened his face again.
It was because he thought about the unpleasant moment with Sangki Beak back then.
‘Shit. I should’ve figured out his skills more….’
However, he shook his head.
Anyways, isn’t everything going well now?
Sangki Beak received plenty of requests for national cooperation since Sangki Beak had ‘the treasure’ spread in the world.
Ohsung would be destroyed because they helped Sangki Beak.
‘Disaster? Why is it because of me? It’s because of Sangki Beak. Plus, isn’t it good since the outcome wasn’t worse while two rulers fought?’
‘Besides, where can they find a conscientious ruler who supports the reconstruction costs like this?’
While feeling no guilt about the disaster, he continued thinking, ‘By the way, does he really have the abnormal status absorption skill user?’
Saehun Choi couldn’t be convinced about the accuracy of the information.
There was a legend about a perfect healer like a ghost story.
However, this incident was too detailed to be a legend and Saehun Choi did go to find a similar skill user once.
Though, he couldn’t see the skill was properly used…..
‘By the looks of Ohsung kidnapping the skill user and Sera Lee finding where he was, there’s a high probability that his skill is real.’
Saehun was disinterested in worldly desires, but it didn’t mean he wasn’t interested in the skill user.
That was why he went to the secret room in Ohsung.
‘Should I ask Sera Lee…. if the skill user is the elixir…’
At that moment he was fiddling with his phone, his subordinate called him.
– Hello, sir.
“What’s the matter?”
– Jinbum Park from Ohsung called and asked if he could talk to you.
Saehun giggled, “He’s anxious.”
– He sounded like it.
“Ignore him.”
– Yes, sir.
Saehun hung up on the phone, let out a sigh, and finished up his task.
It was time to go back to his kingdom.
‘Boring.’
It felt like days were only repeating.
He looked up at the sky.
‘It’s been a while since I experienced something exciting.’
Saehun thought about something deeply, then shook his head and moved.
The Dark Auction didn’t require a complicated procedure like normal teleportation since it belonged to him.
After Saehun grabbed and opened the air and then went inside, space wiggled for a moment and closed its mouth.
*
The light was off in his office.
Saehun Choi appeared next to the desk.
He sat on a luxurious chair and laid back for a moment and soon he stood up and turned on the light.
He had things to do, so he was going to finish them and go back.
Then there was someone sitting on the guest chair in his office.
‘A golden mask…?’
Saehun frowned and tilted his head.
If that person was his subordinate, he would already know that Saehun didn’t like that.
‘However, he could have a reason why he’s doing that if he knows I hate it.’
“I told you guys to take off the masks in the castle.”
The person didn’t answer Saehun.
“Huh…”
The person finally took off the mask in front of Saehun clicking his tongue.
“Saehun Choi. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
An ordinary face.
He knew all the subordinates who could come inside the castle, but the face was unfamiliar.
‘Invader?’
‘In my kingdom? Even in my office?’
At that moment, what Saehun felt wasn’t anger or fear but curiosity.
What a fresh existence the person was to his boring life.
‘It’s fun.’
“How did you get in? It must not have been easy.”
“Some enforcers told me after I beat them up.”
He didn’t like to harm people who weren’t related to this, but he couldn’t help.
“Oh… I see.”
The enforcers got rights to enter some parts of the kingdom and tickets for that.
Saehun made the tickets with his skill and the invader probably stole it from them.
‘From the entrance to the office… I guess he seized it from the other subordinates.’
Many subordinates were outside just in time, so he was lucky.
Saehun nodded and opened his mouth again, “What do you want?”
He smiled at the invader who was staring at Saehun with his surprised face.
“You gave me fun, so I’ll at least listen to your story before I kill you.”
The invader giggled.
“You’re arrogant. Aren’t you afraid of me?”
“Afraid? Who? Me?”
Hahaha….
Saehun laughed so hard that he had never laughed like this before.
“Oh… I laughed thanks to you. I feel like forgiving you.”
“No… Don’t.”
“Huh? What? Don’t forgive you?”
“Don’t you dare talk about forgiveness.”
The invader took off his skin and then Saehun got surprised.
His face was terribly messed up with his burn scars.
“Oh no. You went through such a hard time in your life. I’m sorry.”
Saehun shrunk his shoulders and continued, “By the way, I don’t remember that I burned someone’s face. Is your scar the one that I have to beg for your forgiveness?”
As soon as the invader heard that, his eyes looked down.
“As I expected… You don’t remember me.”
“I’m busy with my subordinates.”
Saehun made a disappointed face.
He expected more fun, but it turned out it was a cliche story about revenge.
“Anyways. Then the reason why you’re here is for revenge. Is that right?”
Saehun asked with a sarcastic tone and the invader answered while gnashing his teeth, “The portal in the secret room in Ohsung. Do you remember where you connected it?”
The secret room in Ohsung. Portal?
He remembered something.
The place where Sangki Beak screwed up everything.
Saehun glared his eyes when he figured out the invader’s identity.
“This can’t be… You’re… ‘the elixir’!!!”
“Ha…”
The invader looked speechless and Saehun smiled brightly after solving the puzzle of the secret room and the elixir.
“What a noble person came here.”
It was killing two birds with one stone.
He could secure the ultimate healer and piss off Sangki Beak.
“Yea. You deserve the guest seat then. I have so much to ask, so please feel at home. How did you survive that…”
Saehun relaxedly smiled and tried to ask a question, but the invader opened his mouth.
“Indeed. You don’t remember who I am but my skills. In fact, my identity isn’t important to you, right?”
Saehun nodded.
“Isn’t it obvious? You’re just the elixir. I don’t need your name now or ever. Without your skill, you’re already dead.”
The invader glared at Saehun fiercely, but he didn’t care and continued, “I asked how you survived at that time. Do you really have a foreign group?”
“It’s not important to me.”
The invader giggled and Saehun put his hand on his forehead.
“I guess you need to learn.”
Snap.
When he snapped his finger, the space next to the invader’s face wavered and then exploded.
“Argh…!”
The explosion struck his face and he tumbled down.
When Saehun snapped his fingers several more times, he rolled here and there.
Saehun looked down on him pitifully.
“How did you kill the enforcer like that? Oh… did you bring your foreign friends?”
Saehun didn’t care about foreign skill users to suppress his castle or not.
In this subspace, the king would never be caught.
He also had a skill to overpower them at once.
“You’re asking how I killed him, right?”
The invader picked up his body.
Killing the enforcer meant he had a capable skill to do that.
Then Saehun could be afraid of the invader’s skill, but he didn’t have any fear right now.
It could be because of his items but also his absolute trust in his subspace barrier around himself.
*
‘Fuck….’
Kimin pretended to be confident, but actually, he was sweating inside.
‘Why? It worked at the ruler’s meeting…’
No matter how he tried, Saehun’s status window didn’t pop up.
He couldn’t release or absorb anything that way.
Everything he prepared would be in vain.
‘It’s because of the monsterlike barrier for sure.’
He couldn’t guess the reason other than that.
His sweat dropped on the floor.
“How I killed the enforcer is… Why don’t you guess? I’ll respect you if you find the answer.”
He dragged out the time while talking nonsense.
He had to find a way during this time.
Why did it work at the meeting, but why not now?
“Oh… Is it a riddle? Funny. I like that.”
Thankfully, Saehun was fooled by the trick and Kimin could put his brain to work.
‘Focus. What situation was it at that time?’
When Kimin checked the release window at the ruler’s meeting, what was Saehun doing…
‘He was holding a water bottle and drinking it.’
His eyes became fierce.
‘He could hold the water bottle while the barrier was attached to his body, but the water couldn’t because it had to go inside his body. Then the water bottle or the water went inside the barrier.’
It didn’t matter if it was the water bottle or the water.
The essence was that something was carried inside the barrier.
Does he need to aim at that moment?
Did the release window appear at the meeting for that reason?
‘What about the air?’
The air also went inside his body.
But no matter how Kimin tried to poke his nose, the release window didn’t pop up.
‘Shit… What on earth is it…’
The last thing to do was to gamble.
Kimin said to Saehun who was still considering the question, “Give me a glass of the water.”
“Sure. You’re my guest. I can do that for you.”
Saehun took out a water bottle from a refrigerator in his office.
‘Please…!’
Just like Kimin wished, he took out one more water bottle.
He threw one to the invader.
At the moment he opened his bottle and tried to drink, Kimin’s finger moved and then his mouth also moved.
It was a relieved smile.
While Kimin smiled, he opened his mouth, “It seems like you don’t know the answer, so I’ll let you know. How I killed the enforcer was…”
Suddenly, Saehun’s vision spun and became dim.
He tried to stand up but couldn’t handle the dizziness and lost his balance.
Then he fell sideways in the darkness.
“Ah…. Ergh…”
“…I did this. It’s not easy to find coordinates, is it?”
Teleporting was very delicate work.
Opening a portal wasn’t easy obviously, but the more difficult thing was where to open it.
It wasn’t different from teleporting in a subspace.
It was only making the process of the teleportation faster.
Kimin set up the strategy after getting advice from Sera Lee and Saehyun Jae.
Kimin was right that Saehun couldn’t do anything if his vision blacked out and lost his sense of balance.
‘Even if it didn’t work, there was one more thing that I prepared though.’
“Arghh!!!”
Saehun suddenly screamed and then floundered around with his hands.
He became carried away by an unfamiliar feeling.
It was fear.
‘What happened? He broke the subspace barrier?’
His subspace blocked a curse.
It was Saehun Choi’s symbol that even Sangki Beak couldn’t break.
How did the pushover break the skill that made Saehun Choi become a ruler, not an ordinary subspace skill user?
‘This doesn’t make any sense. It’s a dream. A dream!!!’
Saehun Choi desperately scratched the air. Then wavy things from his fingers turned into knives and scratched the place.
“Woah.”
The office instantly fell into chaos.
Thud…
A bookshelf collapsed and books fell on the floor.
The wall got deep scratches.
However, Kimin didn’t get any injury from Saehun’s blind attacks and watched Saehun while smiling.
‘I already expected this… I should get ready for the final chapter.’
Ha… Ha…
Kimin looked at Saehun who was laying on the floor and breathing so hard and then turned his head towards the door.
There was no sign of people coming in even though it was so noisy inside.
‘They should be sleeping so well since I used a lot of sleeping power.’
In the meantime,
Wuahh-
Saehun vomited due to his motion sickness.
He was overcome by a feeling that something was continuously spinning him.
“I used it first on purpose. It’s going to be a waste if you run away to your subspace.”
“Ugh…”
“It was the most nerve wracking part. It was so hard for me to get here. You can’t just run away, right?”
Only then Saehun realized that he fell into a trap.
The invader wasn’t the elixir but he was deadly poison.
‘Shit…’
It was right before the moment that the king was captured.
The king chose the last resort.
‘It’s a gamble…, but I have no choice.’
Random teleportation that didn’t have any coordinates.
At the moment Saehun tried to gamble with his life on the random teleportation, Kimin smiled and touched the air.
‘No use.’
“Oh…”
Then Saehun’s eyes became loosened.
