After Takeo left, only Grandpa Elvis and Fredrick remained in the living room.
“……. ’Prestige’……..was it?”
Fredrick said.
“Yes. It seems that the Royal family is able to subconsciously exert pressure on the people by using that magic.”
“Yes. Well, it’s indispensable if they have to stand on the top.”
“Yeah. Especially since they are carrying the weight of the country on their shoulders.
……………….More importantly,…………Fredrick.”
“Yes. It’s about the finger that the two of them have the ring on isn’t it.”
“Isn’t this turning out well?”
“Lord, the only thing that we can do is to watch over them.”
“It’s becoming more exciting.”
Grandpa Elvis started to write the letter with excitement.
Takeo returned back to his room.
For now, he decided to line up the items that he had purchased.
He would organize them later.
He took out the smoke pipe that he had purchased.
Relying on his memory and the manual, he rolled up the leaves, put them at the end of the pipe, and lit them up.
He used magic to light the leaves on fire with the tip of his finger.
After the leaves seemed to have caught fire, he inhaled.
After 3 breaths, he emptied the contents of the pipe into the ashtray.
‘It isn’t so bad’ he thought.
He had asked the shop clerk of the magic goods store to strengthen this pipe and his two spare ones with magic so that they wouldn’t break even if they were hit.
“Now, let’s go to the living room.”
With that, he left his room.
Alice went to her room and started writing a letter to Layla.
This was done in order to protect Takeo’s finger.
The contents seemed to carry a little too much zeal but she didn’t notice.
“Is this alright?”
She placed the letter in the envelope, added the seal, and left for the living room.
Alice and Takeo met in front of the living room.
“Lady Alice, are you also returning now?”
“Yes, I finished writing the letter. What about you Sir Takeo?”
“I went to my room to keep the stuff that I had bought.”
“Is that so?”
Alice knocked on the living room door.
Once confirming that she had permission to enter, she opened that door and the two of them entered inside.
Grandpa Elvis, Fredrick, and an unknown person were inside.
“Alice, did you finish writing the letter?”
“Yes, here it is.”
Alice handed it over to Grandpa Elvis.
“Hmm. I’ll leave this to you.
Harold, I’m sorry but please urgently pass this over to Layla at the Royal Capital.”
“Understood.”
The person named Harold replied.
“Hmm. Takeo, this is Harold, our Knight Commander.
Harold, this is Takeo. I’ve already told you about him right?”
“I’m Harold Lloyd.
You can call me Harold.”
“Thank you for saving the Lord.
And congratulations on your employment.”
Harold said.
“I’m Takeo Kitamizato.
You can call me Takeo.
There were lots of twists and turns but now I’m in their care.
I’m Lady Alice’s subordinate.
Nice to meet you.”
Takeo greeted.
“Hmmm, both of you have finished your introductions.
I’m sure that you have a lot more that you would like to talk about, Harold.
But please send the message urgently first.
You can chat again later.”
“Understood.”
He took the letters and the accessory box that used to contain the rind and left the room.
“We’re done for now.”
“Yes.”
Fredrick said as he placed a cup of tea in front of everyone.
“Then let’s chat till dinner time.
So, Alice, how was it? The date?”
“It wasn’t a date! I already said so!”
She protested with a red face.
“It’s a little sad if you deny it so strongly in front of me.”
Takeo said with a wry smile.
“Ah! Sir Takeo!…………Umm………..It isn’t like that though?”
Alice was flustered.
“Hmm, what isn’t like that?”
“Grandfather! This conversation is over!”
Alice immediately ended the topic.
“By the way.
Today Lady Alice and 1 had some sweets together.
Are baked sweets the main kind of sweets available here?”
“Yes. Sweets usually consist of biscuits, the madeleines that we had today, or cakes.”
“I see. Do you know of an item called ‘Pudding’?”
“No, I haven’t heard of it.”
Alice replied and Grandpa Elvis and Fredrick shook their heads.
“Ummm, It’s made by stirring and boiling a mix of eggs, milk, and sugar.”
Takeo wondered if they had a different name for it as he explained the process.
All of them seemed to be unaware.
“Is that so…….. Mr. Fredrick.”
“What is it?”
“Can you please introduce me to the chef here?”
“Sure, but what……….”
“Yes, I want to try and make some pudding.
